Whistleblower Rescue
This group seeks to advocate for whistleblowers in the immediate aftermath of their disclosure when the world as they knew it simply does not exist anymore. At the top end of the scale, whistleblowers can be targeted for reprisals, isolated from former colleagues, discredited, financially ruined, physically attacked and more besides. It is a lonely and scary place to be and I speak from excruciating personal experience. Having been a Covert Human Intelligence Source (CHIS) Handler with a need to gain the trust of complex whistleblowers quickly whilst undertaking risk assessments on the hoof and then being a significant whistleblower myself (predicting the July Bombings atrocities as early as 2002) I hope to bring forward topics for discussion about the wellbeing of whistleblowers, the duty of care that should exist towards them and the risks they face. At such a difficult time in their lives, with everything at stake, Whistleblower Rescue has been created to shine a light on that all important life support system.
